A Level Results 2017

Congratulations to all of our students for their hard work over the last two years. Our second cohort have performed even better than last year with a 99% pass rate in their A Levels with nearly half achieving A*-B grades.

We would particularly like to celebrate the outstanding progress made by students such as:

Lara Gardiner A*A*A
Holly Sherborne A*AAB
Emma Horner AAA
Megan McBlain AAA

Our vocational students have also done well:

Paige Shergold achieved a Distinction* in Applied Science, double Distinction* in Sport and B in A level Law. Well done Paige!
Oliwia Krajewska achieved a triple Distinction* in Health and Social Care

Simon Firth, Principal, says “This great set of results, our successful OFSTED inspection last year is testament to the hard work of everyone involved in S6C. We’ve always aimed to be a great place to work and learn and we’ve achieved that. We look forward to welcoming our new intake who can come to us knowing that they will be studying at an established, successful and vibrant learning community. So, there is really no need to travel to get a great A level education.”

Lara Gardiner is the first student from S6C to be going to an Oxbridge university. Lara will be studying History at Oxford University this September. Of the students who have secured university places, a fifth will be going to Russell Group universities with students going to the University of Exeter, Cardiff University and the University of Southampton.

S6C students have also been successful in gaining places on competitive degree subjects including Early Years Development and Learning at Norland College, Paramedic Science, Primary Education, Adult Nursing, Computer Science and Dietetics.

We’re also delighted that many of our students will be going to our local universities; the University of Bournemouth, University of Winchester, University of Portsmouth, University of Bath and Bath Spa University as well as the University of Southampton.
