Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate (equivalent to 1 A level) or Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A levels)

Course Description

If you are interested in a career working with people, particularly in the areas of health and social care, then this is the course for you. You will develop professional and personal skills though interaction with people who either work in the sector or, require care and support. You will also gain theoretical knowledge and understanding to underpin your skills.

Assessment

A combination of external assessment and written assignments.

What next?

You could go on to a degree course in nursing, primary teaching, childhood studies, health studies or social work. This course also leads to Advanced or Higher Level Apprenticeships, for example in the NHS, as well as employment in the sector

You will study a range of units including the following mandatory units:

Building positive relationships in health and social care

Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care

Health, safety and security in health and social care

Anatomy and physiology for health and social care

Activities

First Aid course

Work experience: 50 hours

Entry Requirements

Þ Minimum 5 GCSES at grade 4 or above including English Language and Maths

Student Contribution: DBS certificate may be required
