Course Description

Studying double Sport at S6C will broaden your knowledge of the sport and exercise industry further by studying some more specific fields. This will enable you to get an idea of which sector interests you the most and where you might want to build a career. For example, you may be interested in why some athletes choke under the pressure of big competitions while others thrive in stressful environments which is studied in sport psychology or how to treat a grade 2 ACL sprain in sports injuries may be your passion. The units will help to build on your personal skills with the ‘Organise an Event’ unit requiring you to work in a team to plan, organise and deliver a sports event of your choice. Your initiative, creativity and ability to problem solve will be tested in this unit but the result should be a fun event for you to enjoy.

While studying Sport at S6C you will also have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications such as first aid certificates and coaching badges.

The qualification can lead to a university degree in sport such as sport and exercise science, sports therapy, teaching, sports business and management. Other career opportunities include sports coaching, personal training, sports development roles and it is also a great start for helping you to join the military.

Assessment

Assessments range from written reports, presentations, leflets, practical coaching, sessions, analysing investigation data and some examinations.
