S6C English students have work published

Some of our Year 12 and Year 13 students entered the Young Writer’s competition in June this year. The theme was Spine Chillers. They had to write a 50 word mini saga of something spooky and gripping.

Their work has been selected to be published and will be recorded forever in the British Library and they are in for a chance to win a Kindle Fire and up to £1,000 for the college! The winning 3 will be announced after the publication of the anthology at the end of August.

Well done to the students involved!

“I’m really excited about the fact that I was chosen to be published, it’s an awesome thing and it really gives me confidence in my writing ability.” Beth, Year 12 student

“Being published is a dream come true. Writing poetry has always been something that I’ve enjoyed doing in my free time, and this has definitely motivated me to continue. Hopefully, it’ll be a useful addition to my CV, as I am intending to study English Literature at university.” Holly, Year 12 student

“Having my story put forward for publishing has really boosted my confidence in my writing and has encouraged me to continue improving as a writer.” Laurie, Year 13 student
