S6C ready for face-to-face teaching

Salisbury 6th Form College is ready for a full return for all students for the new academic year. As a small sixth sixth form college, S6C is able to resume face-to-face teaching for all students safely due to lower numbers of students on site at any one time. Safety precautions have also been implemented to ensure students and staff can follow the current government guidelines to keep our college community safe.

Teaching will resume in the College building on Tuesday 8th September for current students starting Year 13 and the day will begin with an assembly to welcome them back and confirm any changes to procedures in the building in order to adhere to guidelines. Following the assembly, lessons will resume in classrooms. New students joining the College will be welcomed on Thursday 3rd September and they will have a day of induction to the College before lessons commence in classrooms on Friday 4th September.

As a Google College, all new students will be shown the online Google Classroom and how to use Google Meet for live video sessions, this will ensure that, should the need arise for live online teaching to recommence, all students will be confident to access online learning.

When on site, students will follow a one-way system around the building in order to adhere to social distancing rules and keep students and staff safe. Hand gel dispensers are also available around the College and students and staff will be reminded to use these when moving around the building. The College has also been deep-cleaned and is ready to welcome our students back!
