S6C Update

10 January 2025
Welcome back to a very wintry new term! We hope that everyone had a restful break and you are ready for the busy term ahead. Before Christmas, several students took their maths and english resit exams and we’d like to congratulate everyone who passed. Also before Christmas, our year 13 students took their mock exams and now we have their results, we will be working hard to prepare for final exams in the summer. If any student feels they require additional support, our teaching staff are ready to offer any help that is needed. Year 13 progress reports are available on the parent portal.

Vocational exams are currently taking place and will continue until 17 January. Good luck to all those taking part and don’t forget that all staff are here to support you. If you need any help, please ask.

Our Year 13 parents’ evening last night was well attended and it was wonderful to hear so many positive comments about the college. If you would like to give us feedback on the evening or any other aspects of the college, please click on the following link: Parents’ Evening Feedback

UCAS
Well done to everyone who has already submitted their applications but if you haven’t, there is still time! If Year 13s are wanting to apply to university by the January 29th deadline then they really need to get their applications ready asap so we have time to process them, which typically takes up to two working weeks. They should keep their tutors well informed about their intentions and progress. As ever, we are all here to help.

Appren-T-Fest Salisbury – Wednesday 22 January 2025, hosted by S6C
All parents and carers (from all Salisbury schools/colleges) are invited to find out more about local apprenticeship options. You can book to attend 16:00-17:00 or 17:30-18:30. There will be a short talk about apprenticeships and an exhibition of local employers to speak to about their opportunities. You can find out more about the event, download the preview directory and book to attend using this link: https://apprenticeshipsinsalisbury.co.uk/2025-directory-and-fair/

Tickets are free of charge but you must book tickets in order to attend.

The exhibition will be open to our students to explore during the college day.

A final edition of the directory will be published, printed and distributed at the event. If you work for an organisation that has opportunities for school leavers, and would like to advertise in the directory, please get in touch with the organisers: info@apprenticeshipsinsalisbury.co.uk
