It’s the end of term and there have been so many triumphs over the last few months. Some highlights include hosting another successful Apprenticeships Fair; local school St Joseph’s came for a day of science and left full of praise for S6C; we received a record number of applications to study with us in September; we celebrated World Book Day in style; we saw brains in our dance studio and animals in our foyer for British Science Week; our sports academies are flourishing and although still less than a year old, are achieving remarkable results; our student union provided the weekly ‘tea and toast’ breakfast to those in need; and finally, the recent results in our EPQ, CTEC and BTEC courses have proven how brilliant our students are and how our team of exceptional teachers are able to get the best out of each and every young person who studies here.
One of our year 12 students is volunteering for a charity that supports Ukrainian citizens. They are planning on travelling into Ukraine to deliver supplies to help children with disabilities and if you able to, please do support their efforts: Travelling to Ukraine to Help Disabled Children
I would like to wish everyone a very happy Easter break and I can’t wait to welcome our students back on Monday 15 April for the summer term. I’d also like to say good luck to our students taking their Vocational mocks on 16 and 17 April.
Easter Revision Sessions
We are opening the college for a few revision sessions during the Easter break. The staff members who will be running these sessions are noted below. Liz Stavely – Mental Health Lead
Please click here for the Wiltshire Council parent workshops and adult learning opportunities. They are free to attend and some focus on supporting children’s wellbeing in the home. Please do take a look and I hope there is something here that is of interest to you.

University and Apprenticeships
– Any student needing to do an interview for apprenticeship, employment or university can come and see Rebecca to arrange some guidance and practice;
– Any student needing advice on volunteering, work experience, or wider engagement, to prepare for strong applications, should talk to their teachers, tutor or Rebecca as soon as they know what area they may be interested in;
– We offer a full support service for those applying for apprenticeships, but it has to be responsive to the job market, so there are no set dates for the different stages. This means that students need to show a high level of initiative and independence, but we are here to help and we expect to be involved – we can help search, check applications, and prepare for interviews.
Careers
Polly Wiggins is our external careers advisor and students wanting to book an appointment should message Rachel Cooke.
